The Feast of First Fruits
Celebrate the Resurrection of Messiah
April 3-4, 2021
In this year of 2021, The Feast of First Fruits begins at sundown on April 3rd and ends at sundown April 4th. It is celebrated on the Sunday after Passover and during The Feast of Unleavened Bread. God appointed this day of observance for the Jewish people over 3,500 years ago as a day of praise to Him for the early spring harvest and the resurrection of the earth. (See Leviticus 23:9-14)
This special day is a hidden yet obvious foreshadow of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Yeshua Messiah died and was buried in the earth on Passover. He rose from the dead on the very day of the celebration of The Feast of First Fruits as the Resurrected Lord!
Following is part of the text on the back of the First Fruits Art Card:
On The Feast of First Fruits, an Israelite farmer took the first sheaf of his barley harvest to the priest who waved it before the Lord. As a result, the farmer’s harvest was accepted and dedicated to God. As the people remembered God’s provision, they declared their trust in Him for the coming harvest.
Jesus said, “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 Just as the first sheaves of the harvest were accepted, Yeshua’s perfect sacrifice for our sin was accepted by the Father, and all who receive Him are entirely accepted and raised to new life by the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Now Messiah Yeshua has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep...For as in Adam all die, so also in Messiah all will be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:20, 22
“We have been buried with Him through immersion (baptism) into death, so that as Messiah was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
Yeshua is our First Fruits, our Risen Life, and our Promised Land. He is our Place of provision, quiet and rest! Let the earth rejoice! Psalm 97:1b
